Garcia has specialized in vitreoretinal diseases since 1974, authoring three books and hundreds of articles.  Dr. Rania Tabet studied ophthalmology, with a special focus on corneal disorders, at the Foundation Ophthalmologic of Rothschild, Paris, France and the University of Paris VII, School of Medicine.  

We also maintain a team of top-class optometrists to meet your family's primary eye and vision care needs.  Dr. T. Geoffrey Iszard and Dr. Michael L. Suber, are experienced therapeutic optometrists who can check your eyes, prescribe vision correction, and diagnose diseases and disorders.

  • Dr.
    Geoffrey Collett
    Ophthalmologist

    Dr. Collett graduated magna cum laude from Florida International University with a bachelors degree in chemistry, then afterwards his medical degree. During this time he participated in medical missions to Central America and Africa. He is an inductee of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He completed his residency at Boston Medical Center, where he medically and surgically managed complex patients. Working at BMC allowed him to care for individuals from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.

    Dr. Collett’s comprehensive services include cataract surgery, premium intraocular lens implants, dry eyes, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.  Dr. Collett is fluent in Spanish and he grew up in New York City. He has been fortunate enough to visit various continents during his formative years, and traveling continues to be a passion to this day. Dr. Collett also enjoys playing basketball and watching sports.

    Charles A Garcia
    Surgery and Treatment of Diseases of Retina and Vitreous

    Dr. Charles A. Garcia is a board certified and internationally recognized researcher and clinician. As a specialist, his clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis of various vitreo-retinal diseases and he has worked throughout his career on finding a treatment for Retinitis Pigmentosa and Retinal Dystrophies. Dr. Garcia has written extensively on his retina research and published more than 175 articles, written three books in English and Spanish as well as published numerous articles in association with the National Institutes of Health. He has presented in numerous ophthalmic societies both in the US and internationally and has been active in training more than 180 post-doctoral fellows from 22 countries including the United States since 1974.

    Rania Tabet
    Surgery & Diseases of the Cornea, Retina, and Vitreous

    Dr. Rania Tabet is a retina and cataract surgeon at Charles A. Garcia, MDPA & The Retinal Vascular Center, where she brings her expertise and passion for eye health. With extensive training and experience in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery, Dr. Tabet is at the forefront of her field, delivering personalized care to each patient she serves. Dr. Tabet's training in medicine began at Universite St Joseph (USJ) Faculty of Medicine in Beirut, Lebanon, where she earned her M.D. degree and specialized in Clinical Forensics. She continued her training with clinical fellowships and research positions at esteemed institutions such as The University of Texas McGovern Medical School at Houston, under the mentorship of renowned ophthalmologists like Charles A. Garcia, MD and Nan Wang, MD. Throughout her career, Dr. Tabet has garnered recognition for her outstanding contributions to ophthalmology, including being awarded the Richard S. Ruiz, M.D., Outstanding Fellow in Ophthalmology. She is an active member of prestigious organizations such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the French Society of Ophthalmology. She is also an active member of her community and local church and participates in various community events throughout the year serving the Houston area.

    Dr. Tabet's dedication to advancing eye care is evident through her extensive research and presentations on various eye conditions and treatments. Her publications in leading ophthalmology journals and presentations at national and international conferences reflect her commitment to staying at the forefront of her field. In addition to her expertise in ophthalmology, Dr. Tabet is fluent in English, French, Arabic, and medical Spanish, allowing her to effectively communicate with patients from diverse backgrounds.     T. Geoffrey Iszard
    Therapeutic Optometrist
    T. Geoffrey Iszard, O.D., received his Doctorate in Optometry at the University of Houston, with honors, going on to completed a fellowship in Corneal and External Disease at the University of Texas at Houston Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Iszard served as Staff Optometrist at the NASA Johnson Space Center until 2006, and is currently Adjunct Clinical Faculty at the University of Houston, College of Optometry. His areas of interest include treatment of dry eyes and specialty contact lenses.

    Lara Fady
    Therapeutic Optometrist

    Dr. Lara Fady completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of St. Thomas with Summa Cum Laude honors and received her Doctorate degree in Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. She is the recipient of the college’s Dry Eye Clinic excellence award and has a passion for fitting specialty contact lenses for keratoconus and corneal disease patients. Dr. Fady completed her medical training at Cedar Springs Community Clinic in Dallas, TX where she gained a wide array of knowledge on the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases including diabetic retinopathy, cataract, glaucoma and macular degeneration. Dr. Fady is fluent in multiple languages and enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, attending concerts and spending time with family and friends.

    Michael Suber
    Therapeutic Optometrist

    Dr. Michael Suber has practiced in the Houston-Galveston area for the past 20 years. He received his Bachelors Degree at the University of Houston and went on to the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Suber has always had an interest in the area of research and has been previously awarded grant funding from the National Institutes of Health for the Study of Gene Therapy for Retinal Degenerations. Dr. Suber has been fitting contact lenses and treating eye disease so patients can attain maximum visual function and maintain good ocular health.

    Frank Lee
    Ophthalmologist

    Dr. Lee is a board-certified ophthalmologist with a wealth of experience and a passion for providing personalized care to each patient he serves. With a career spanning over two decades, Dr. Lee has established himself as a leader in the field of ophthalmology, specializing in glaucoma management and treatment. Dr. Lee's journey in medicine began at the prestigious Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. 

    He further honed his skills through rigorous post-graduate training, including a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Chicago Hospitals and a fellowship in Glaucoma at the Scheie Eye Institute, University of Pennsylvania. Throughout his career, Dr. Lee has held esteemed positions at renowned institutions such as the Toronto Retina Institute, Medical Eye Consultants in Canada, and the Valdez Eye Center in California. His dedication to excellence and commitment to patient care have earned him recognition from organizations like the American Academy of Ophthalmology, where he is an active fellow. Dr. Lee's contributions to the field of ophthalmology have been celebrated through various awards and honors, including the Howard E. Morgan Award for Outstanding Achievement in Basic Research and the Medical Student Research Symposium Award. He is a proud member of the American Medical Association and has been certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 2007. 

    Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Lee is known for his warm bedside manner and dedication to his patients' well-being. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese, he ensures effective communication with patients from diverse backgrounds.   • Dr. Hasan Mohidat M.D.

    Dr. Mohidat's education began at Jordan University of Science and Technology, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. He is a licensed ophthalmologist certified by the Jordanian Board of Ophthalmology, with a permanent medical license from the Ministry of Health in Amman, Jordan. Dr. Mohidat has successfully completed the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLE), securing full medical licensure in the State of Texas. With a focus on retinal and cataract surgery, Dr. Mohidat has honed his expertise through various roles, including as a retina and cataract surgeon at prestigious institutions such as King Abdullah University Hospital in Jordan and The University of Texas McGovern Medical School in Houston. His dedication to patient care is evident in his tenure as Chief Resident in Ophthalmology and as a vitreoretinal fellow, where he gained invaluable experience in diagnosing and treating complex eye conditions.

    Dr. Mohidat's leadership extends beyond the operating room. He has served as the Head of Ophthalmology Division and Assistant Dean at Jordan University of Science and Technology, fostering the growth of future ophthalmologists. As an assistant professor, he imparts his knowledge and expertise to medical students, ensuring the next generation of eye care providers is well-prepared to meet the challenges of tomorrow. Driven by a commitment to advancing the field of ophthalmology, Dr. Mohidat has engaged in extensive research and clinical trials. He has contributed to numerous publications and presentations, covering topics ranging from diabetic retinopathy to age-related macular degeneration. Dr. Mohidat's involvement in professional organizations such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology underscores his dedication to staying at the forefront of his field.
